ENERGY STAR is a joint program led by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy which offers certifications for energy efficient products. Lighting is just one of the industries the Energy Star program is involved in to help consumers identify energy saving products through the use of the Energy Star symbol on product packaging.

ENERGY STAR qualified LED lighting ensures high performance for new construction projects, "green" renovations and any type of energy efficient, do it yourself upgrades. As reported by ENERGY STAR, "qualified residential LED lighting uses at least 75% less energy, lasts 25 times longer than incandescent lighting and provides optimal light color."
